Curriculum & Graduation
Students enroll in grade appropriate core courses and select elective subjects from a long list of popular classes such as Drama, Photography, Art, Weight Training, and Psychology.
The Alexander School offers:

- 3 Foreign Language courses
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Standard Program
26 Units: 4 English; 3 Math; 3 Lab Science; 4 Social Studies; 2 Language; 1 Fine Arts; 1.5 P.E.; 5 Health; 0.5 Computer; 0.5 Drama/Speech; 6 Electives.
College Prep Program
Standard Program + 1 additional (each) Language, Math & Science, and 3 fewer electives.
Honors Program
College Prep Program including 5 AP/Honors courses and a grade average of 90+. Honors courses are challenging and pursue a more in-depth study of the subject. Honors courses are available in most academic subjects and require student, parent, teacher and principal approval.
Honors and Advanced Placement courses are offered in the following subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- Social Studies
- Science
- Foreign Language
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Concurrent Enrollment
Students with teacher and principal approval can enroll in a Community College, SMU or UTD for advanced studies in English, Math, Science, History, Art, Music or Computer. Both college and high school credit can be earned with successful completion of the course.
